Proving that small cars are still popular, Renault has announced a new Clio for 2026, featuring an updated design and modern elements.

Even with the modern design, it still retains some traditional elements, including the hidden handles for the rear doors, which are integrated into the C-pillars.

The C-shaped lighting now appears as striking LED daytime running lights positioned below the main headlights, while the grille and lower air intake feature dozens of small diamonds in the shape of the Renault logo.

Its pointed headlights contribute to a sharper, more aggressive look, complemented by 18-inch wheels. The redesigned exterior gives it the appearance of a larger car, though it is only slightly bigger.

It measures 4,116 millimeters in length and 1,768 millimeters in width. The wheelbase has been slightly extended to 2,591 millimeters, while the height remains almost the same at 1,451 millimeters.

Inside, the cabin draws inspiration from the electric Renault 5, featuring a dual-screen setup while retaining physical buttons. However, the old rotary knobs from the Clio have been removed for a more minimalist design.

The Clio will no longer have a diesel version, with the 1.5-liter dCi replaced by a fully hybrid setup. The E-Tech system uses a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine operating on the Atkinson cycle, combined with two electric motors for a total output of 160 hp.

Torque has increased by 22 Nm to 170 Nm, providing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds, one second slower. Renault estimates that the Clio will operate in electric mode up to 80% of the time in cities and suburbs. With a full tank and the 1.4 kWh battery charged, the estimated range is 1,000 kilometers.
